Workshop refund policy

Our cancellation and refund policy for mosaic workshops is as follows:

If you cancel up to two weeks before the workshop then you will receive a full refund. Otherwise, I will try to fill your place before the class and if I manage to do so then you would be refunded and if not, then there would be no refund.

If I need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, then I would aim to give you as much notice as possible. Unfortunately, however, I would not be able to accept liability for your travel or accommodation costs so it would be a good idea to take out travel insurance to cover these expenses in the event of a cancellation. In the event of me needing to cancel, I would aim to reschedule the class or provide you with a full refund.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at helenmilesmosaics@gmail.com.

Mosaic commissions

If you commission a mosaic, we will be in close contact to confirm all details relating to it including the materials, colours, design, date of completion and delivery.

A deposit would be required before we start your design and a further payment of either one half or one third of the overall price before fabrication starts. The decision about whether to pay in two instalments or three depends on on the size and type of mosaic. The remaining payment/s are made half way through the fabrication process and/or on delivery of the completed work.

We do not undertake installation but are happy to give detailed advice on the installation process and to recommend experienced installers where appropriate. We are not liable for the quality of the work of the person hired by you to instal the mosaic.

If you change your mind and decide not to proceed with the commission at any stage in the fabrication process, then no refund will be made. If you decide not to proceed after the design stage, then your deposit is not refundable.

If for any reason such as illness or injury, we were not able to complete the mosaic as agreed, then you would be entitled to a refund. The amount of refund would depend on how much work had already been completed.

However, in such an event, we would  endeavour to do everything possible to find a fully trained and experienced mosaic artist/s to take over and complete the commission. The price would remain at the pre-agreed figure and where possible we would liaise with the secondary artist so they could pick up where we left off.
